Unakoti District Bar Association Election: Left-Congress Panel Wins Unopposed, BJP Fails to Field Candidates
The election to the Unakoti District Bar Association has concluded with a Left-Congress-backed panel securing victory without a contest, as the BJP legal cell did not field candidates for the election.
Bijan Kumar Sinha has been elected President of the Unakoti District Bar Association, while Swapan Kumar Das has been elected Vice-President. Nilanjan Das has been elected Secretary, with Arun Sinha and Muktajidur Rahman elected as Joint Secretaries.
The panel secured five of the nine posts in the association, while the remaining positions were also filled without a direct contest. The outcome has attracted attention in legal circles, particularly ahead of the upcoming elections of other bar associations in the state.
Harekrishna Bhowmik, Chairman of the Tripura Pradesh Congress Legal Department, congratulated the newly elected office-bearers on their victory. The development is being viewed as a significant outcome in the professional legal community of Unakoti, with the newly elected office-bearers now set to take charge of the District Bar Association.
